Our founder, Mr. T.R Gupta, was a world-renowned engineer in the post-world war II era, who pioneered many industries in independent India, including the Shriram Group of Industries and later the Heavy Engineering Corporation for the Government of India, and has been credited as being the Father of Mass Production Technology in India; pioneering the concept of ancillarization for mass production of sewing machines, fans and the like. In 1964, he set up India’s first commercial tool room by the name of Precision Tools and Instruments, in Calcutta.
In 1970, the company obtained a license to manufacture electrical stampings and laminations in Faridabad, Haryana. Under the name Precision Stampings, the company set up its first stamping unit, which today, happens to be the oldest surviving stamping unit in India. Mr. T.R Gupta set up a modern unit, with the latest technology available at the time, and encouraged his sons, Mr. Kishore Kumar Gupta and Mr. Mohan Gupta, and his employees to inculcate modern technology and methods in order to remain at the forefront of this industry in India.
In 1981, Mr. Kishore Kumar Gupta parted ways with the company to set up another tool room, leaving his younger brother Mr. Mohan Gupta to manage the company, who took the company to new levels in the industry. Mr. Mohan Gupta has the distinction of being the first ever exporter of laminations in bulk from India, exporting to Australia, and later to Egypt and Belgium.
By 1999, Precision Stampings was supplying to the best names in the Indian industry, and as demand increased, we expanded and set up our largest factory- Precision Stampings Unit II in Faridabad, Haryana, which increased our capacity by a huge margin, and now serves as our export unit.
In 2022, Mr. Mohan Gupta received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Faridabad Industries Association (FIA) for his exceptional contribution to industry and the industrial society as a whole over the span of his career of 50-plus years.
By the year 2000, Mohan Gupta was joined by his son Mr. Harsh Gupta in running Precision Stampings, who with his modern education introduced many modern technologies and production methods, and shifted the focus primarily to exports, finding a very good market for the company in Europe. In 2003, the father and son team set up Precision Stampings Unit III in Pune, Maharashtra. The same year, LG Electronics set up a plant to manufacture refrigeration compressors, and Precision Stampings holds the distinction of being the first and only supplier for many years to LG for their rotors and stators produced with the latest technology of Auto Stitching, Auto Skewing, and Air Gap Provision in the rotors in the stamping process. This upgradation of technology helped us realise the importance and adopt the policy of having continual improvements and technology upgrades in our production process.
We have regularly participated in the Berlin Coil Winding Show, which has helped us gain many more customers in Europe. With our European market increasing, we set up a Marketing Office in Germany, in 2008, near Stuttgart.
We are a family owned business with traditional values, with a modern and progressive outlook, allowing us to be prudent with our finances, which is why we are a completely debt-free company as of today. With Mr. Harsh Gupta at the helm, the company aspires to keep growing and consolidating their reputation as the foremost and largest stamping manufacturer in India, and to become a truly global market leader in our industry.
